The Arbitration Centre of the Kuwait Lawyers Association held a three-day course titled “The International Arbitrator” from 27 to 29 September 2016 at the Association’s headquarters.
Lawyer Sultan Al-Qahtani, a member of the Arbitration Centre’s board, said the course covered: – Commercial disputes subject to international arbitration. – The procedural and substantive rules governing them. – A practical workshop on such disputes.
Participants earned 12 arbitration hours. Al-Qahtani said the course was part of the Centre’s plan to prepare and qualify arbitrators to decide international disputes.
Internationally, in October 2016 the Kuwait Lawyers Association, in a delegation that included Al-Qahtani, presented a working paper on the problems of arbitration to an international conference.
