2. Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

  • Information you provide directly: name, email address, phone number, and the content of any message you submit through our contact form, WhatsApp chat button, phone call, or email.
  • Job applications: if you apply for a position through our Recruitment page, we collect your name, phone number, email address, any message you include, and the CV or other documents you upload. We use this information solely to assess your application and to contact you about it.
  • Information collected automatically: IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, referring website, and approximate location, collected through standard web server logs and the analytics tools described in Section 6 (Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity).
  • Cookies: small files placed on your device to enable core website functionality and, where used, to understand site usage. See Section 6 below.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to your inquiries and requests for information about our legal services;
  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Website;
  • Communicate with prospective and existing clients, where appropriate and with consent where required by law;
  • Assess applications for employment and communicate with applicants;
  • Protect our forms against spam, fraud, and automated abuse;
  • Comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.

Submitting an inquiry through the Website does not, by itself, create an attorney-client relationship or impose any duty of confidentiality on the Firm beyond ordinary data protection obligations. Please see our Disclaimer for further detail.

4. Legal Basis and Confidentiality

We process personal data in accordance with the data protection regulation issued by Kuwait’s Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA), and other applicable Kuwaiti law. Where you become a client of the Firm, information relating to your matter is additionally protected under the professional confidentiality obligations applicable to advocates practicing in Kuwait, which apply in addition to (and generally exceed) the protections described in this Policy.

5. Sharing of Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share information with:

  • Service providers who support our website hosting, email, and communication tools, solely to the extent necessary to provide those services;
  • Courts, regulators, or authorities where disclosure is required by Kuwaiti law or a valid legal process;
  • Professional advisers (e.g., co-counsel) where necessary to handle a client matter, subject to confidentiality obligations;
  • Analytics providers — Google (Google Analytics) and Microsoft (Microsoft Clarity) — which process website usage data on our behalf as described in Section 6;
  • Google, which provides the reCAPTCHA service used to protect our contact and recruitment forms, as described in Section 6.

6. Cookies

Our Website uses essential cookies required for the site to function, and analytics cookies and similar technologies to help us understand how visitors use the Website and to improve it. We use:

  • Google Analytics (Google LLC), to measure visits, traffic sources, and interactions such as clicks on our phone and WhatsApp links and successful submissions of our contact form. Learn more in Google’s Privacy Policy.
  • Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation), to understand how visitors navigate our pages through heatmaps and session replays of mouse movements, clicks, and scrolling. Text you type into our forms is masked and is not recorded by Clarity. Microsoft may collect data through first- and third-party cookies and use it as described in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

These providers may process data on servers located outside Kuwait. We use the resulting information only in aggregated form to improve the Website and do not use it to identify individual visitors. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Disabling essential cookies may affect Website functionality.

Form protection (Google reCAPTCHA). Our contact and recruitment forms are protected by Google reCAPTCHA v3, a service provided by Google LLC that helps distinguish genuine visitors from automated programs. To do so, reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information, such as device and browser data and interactions with the page, and sends it to Google for analysis. The reCAPTCHA badge is hidden on our pages, so we disclose its use here: this site is protected by reCAPTCHA and the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply. We use reCAPTCHA only to protect our forms, not for analytics or advertising.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Policy. As a general practice: (a) information relating to a formal client engagement is retained for five (5) years following the closure of the relevant matter; (b) general website inquiries that do not result in a client engagement are retained for two (2) years from the date of last contact; and (c) job applications, including CVs and any attached documents, are retained for three (3) years from the date of submission so that we may consider applicants for future vacancies, after which they are securely deleted. You may ask us to delete your application earlier by contacting info@alitqanlg.com. These periods apply unless a longer period is required to comply with legal, accounting, or professional obligations applicable to law firms in Kuwait.

8. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information submitted through the Website against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Rights

Subject to applicable Kuwaiti law, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at info@alitqanlg.com.

10. Children’s Privacy

Our Website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
